I trained as a primary school teacher at Chester college, with my 2nd year studying in North America.
After 18 months I moved on to being a youth hostel assistant in the Lake District. I then progressed to senior assistant, warden and then manager in Helmsley, Lincoln, Salisbury and finally Oxford when I moved to Matlock in November 1999 to work in the YHA office.
I retrained as a secretary at Chesterfield college.
I have worked in an estate agent, PA to accommodation business partners and agency worker in various locations. I set up a small business with my retired BT engineer husband, Brian, doing odd jobs, painting, small decorating jobs etc.
I worked with my husband, did the accounts (with the help of an accountant) and managed the business. In 2010 I became a care worker.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2012
My boss was so good while I underwent treatment I returned to work in 2014, working for Crocus Homecare, bringing care to people in their own homes. I now work in McDonalds.
Hobbies include Bellring, singing in St Giles church choir, walking our large black labrador dog (Ben) and holidays!
