Derbyshire Woodland Festival – 23rd and 24th September at Elvaston Castle
Now in it’s seventeenth year the Woodland Festival organised by Derbyshire County Council gets ever more popular. Held in the beautiful, historic grounds of Elvaston Castle near Derby it attracts visitors from all over the county and beyond. The Festival which celebrates traditional and contemporary woodland crafts offers a great day out for all the family. There are lots of activities for children, delicious food, bespoke gifts, plants and an array of stalls. Visitors can watch expert craftspeople at work and have a go themselves. Find out about fire lighting, survival skills, chair making, willow weaving, the legend of the Green Man and much more. Entry to the Festival is free of charge but special car parking charges apply – £8 per car and £4 per motorcycle. There are charges for some of the activities. Dogs are welcome on leads.
